1977年畢業(yè)于洛陽(yáng)外語(yǔ)學(xué)院。1978年10月至1994年10月在西亞非洲研究所圖書資料室工作。1994年10月調(diào)至西亞非洲研究所地區(qū)研究室，開始從事南部非洲地區(qū)研究。該研究室于1995年正式更名為南非研究中心，于12月21日召開成立大會(huì)。本人擔(dān)任該中心副主任。1996年至1999年南非中心出版內(nèi)部季刊《南非研究》（后更名為《南部非洲研究》）雜志，本人擔(dān)任該雜志副主編。2003年至2006年被借調(diào)到外交部工作，任中國(guó)駐肯尼亞大使館一等秘書、調(diào)研室副主任。2005年，南非研究中心的研究人員歸并入西亞非洲研究所非洲研究室，本人2006年由駐肯尼亞使館返所后在非洲研究室，繼續(xù)從事南部非洲問(wèn)題研究，與此同時(shí)對(duì)中非關(guān)系中的經(jīng)濟(jì)合作問(wèn)題也有所關(guān)注。

1986年-1987年在美國(guó)伊利諾大學(xué)進(jìn)修學(xué)習(xí)
1987年8月-10月先后對(duì)津巴布韋、肯尼亞和埃塞俄比亞進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)訪問(wèn)
2000年5月對(duì)日本非洲研究機(jī)構(gòu)進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)訪問(wèn)
2001年4月-5月先后對(duì)埃及、南非進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)訪問(wèn)
2002年9月-11月訪問(wèn)荷蘭萊頓大學(xué)非洲研究中心
2006年10月訪問(wèn)韓國(guó)仁和大學(xué)
2008年8月隨同西亞非洲研究所代表團(tuán)赴贊比亞和南非進(jìn)行研究考察
2009年11月訪問(wèn)美國(guó)波士頓大學(xué)非洲研究中心
